Cartesian 3 axes handler (X, Y and Z) for steel coil head and tail trimming management. The equipment , having a lifting capacity of 3 500 lbs, makes fully automated and manual displacements, according to the production steps. Its peak speed is 6 f/sec. Its span is about 30' x 40' and temperature range is -25 C to +40 C. The axes are position closed loop controlled by using encoders. The equipment is also designed for easy padlocking for maintenance.

A remote radio transceiver comes with the equipment for operation flexibility.

The handler is equipped with safety laser scanners to guaranty a safe operation in automatic mode. As the scanners are mounted on the moving part, the detection zones are variable according to the handler position. Other detector types are also possible.

the above parameters can be adapted to any new application. If required, a 4th rotation axis can also be added in order to change the load orientation. Different types of grabbers are also conceivable, such as lift truck forks for palettes.
