Two cabins have been designed and built for Gentilly II nuclear power plant. These cabins are installed on an overhead crane in front of the reactor. They're used as a shield to protect workers from radiations at the annual shutdown for inspection or maintenance works. Each weighs 15 tons.
In order to solve many problems linked to the installation and the use of these cabins at times of periodic inspections, we developed new concepts to be more flexible and to take less time of installation. The cabin assembly is modular so many other configurations are also possible to increase the working room or to add new functions.
AVANTAGES :
- Flexible design,
- Dimensioned to fit the reactor's room access door,
- Seismic protection,
- Quick and easy assembly,
- Inside space maximized,
- Gathered services and easy connections (air, electricity),
- Integrated controls for all axis movement,
- Improvement of the doors facing the reactor.
